valley pan grommet

OK so I got a 42344 grommet for the valley pan, and the drain pipe for the turbo is not a tight fit...does that matter? To me I would think so but don't know. What would you do? Thanks and sorry if this has been discussed already...

what turbo do you have and what part # is that from? if you didn't get it from banks,did you try that one yet?
if you want to,i think id just smother the sucker in black rtv.it should fill in the gap between the oil drain tube and the grommet just fine.once the black rtv hardens up,she'll be there for years.

X2. that's the one I used on my turbo install. Just slapped a bunch of rtv on it and went. So far no leaks that I know of.

Well if this is a Banks unit why not contact Banks about the grommet. I'm sure they still have them available. Might buy 2 or 3 of them so you can halp others or yourself in the future. Spare parts are usually great to have on a late Sunday nite when you just absolutely need the truck on Monday morning.

They list the part number in the owners manual.

Banks 93043 I think.

Just a couple of dollars on a few different sites. I bet it is the same from them. Don't get in a hurry for the parts. Ground shipping takes about a week from them.

oh yeah,no reason to frig around then.just call up banks.they sell the whole system or any nut and bolt/seal/gasket etc all in full production.no need to cut corners and make stuff work due to discontinued/hard to find parts.call 'em up and just order the correct grommet.you'll be glad to make it right.
