Some of you might remember I was getting and 83 F250 from my mother-in-law for a dollar and I was driving it down from PA to FL.
Well, here is an update on the whole affair...
1st, she gave my dollar back... because she gifted it to us and was worried about being compensated in any way because she could go to jail for it... I thought of leaving the dollar with her and calling in an anonymous tip.... well, ahem.. another story of another time...
Anyways, the truck made the 1000 mi journey without any problems. Burned some less than 2 qts of oil or so I think, there is some leakage showing in lots of possible areas all around the engine, so some leaked and some burned. (mileage of truck is 187000 or so). It lost about a gallon of coolant, do not know where it went...? We got about 19 mpg. Remember, auto tranny, towing package with 4.11 rear. No, we did not tow anything nor did it have anything in the bed. Traveling speed was between 62 - 64 mph, much faster than that the engine sounded like it was revving way too high.
So, it purred very nicely and now has a home that will take care of the old cow, even though she has bad cancer.
Just thought people might be interested ....
