Anyone know what the reason the throttle needs to be 0.515 or some 1/2" from wide open during part of this test?
(I suspect a bad Trans Vacuum Regulator Valve) $89.00 from Father Ford:(
Guess this is a dealer only item...eh?

Also, when checking vacuum at the vacuume pump what #'s should I see at Idle?

Also, what happened to TDS Forum? I've got PM's I can't get to?

Thanks...

Ok, so I tested my (Trans Vacuum Regulator Valve)...I wasn't able to perform the test because the unit itself WON'T hold vacuum. The things JUNK
New one will be here tomorrow from my local dealer.
I suspect this as the sole cause my tranny (sometimes) doesn't like to shift from 1st to 2nd unless I come off the throttle some, then BANG!

Vacuum pump itself is strong with some +25" of vacuum.

*Observation...as per test procedure states, one should hold the throttle 1/2" from wide open.
I noticed when operating the throttle by hand there is a noticable (resistance/stop) exactly at that point before WOT.

Stay tuned for more. :drunk:

mine was busted and i went to a junkyard and got one off a truck with bad headgaskets for $10. now my truck will shift anywhere from 1500-2300 rpm depending on the throttle of course.
