Turbo up pipe exhaust leak

2002 E450 ambulance

Exhaust blowing out both upper flanges at turbo Y pipe inlet. I've ordered the Navistar 1816103C1 donut seals & will have monday am.

Has anyone changed these before and how big of a job am I up against? I've got access to the back of the turbo inside the cab, can these pipes come out for seal replacement without either dropping the manifolds or pulling the turbo?

Return those donuts.go to the part numbers thread at the top of the forum.find the napa part numbers for the smallblock chevy exhuast donuts.they seal tighter especially on a worn pipe and are like a buck each and last forever.

They willl come out with a little wiggling without pulling turbo or manifolds.might have to unbolt the flange from the turbo.

Your going to want to get new up pipes as well. The vibrations will wear grooves into the pipes where the oring gaskets are seated. Having access to them directly will make life much easier.

Sweet! Will use the Napa F17250. I've already checked, they're readily available locally.

The smallblock gaskets will usually take care of that unless theyre badly worn

Might want to pick up the 4 manifold to pipe nuts and bolts from ford or international dealer.they probably will break or strip.part numbers are in the same thread

Mine were the top two turbo bolts that broke.
Uppipe bolts were easy.
You can also expand the donut end to fit the donut better.
