turbo stuff

When I put my turbo i did not turn up the ip. I drove it around for a couple of weeks and felt like it should have had more power than it should. So I turned up the ip and its a totally different truck now. I turn it up a bout 2 1/2 flats and it smokes like crazy. If I eaze into it its not as bad but full throttle it really smokes. After I turned up the fuel pump I build boost alot faster and can get 10 psi really easy now. Does everything shound normal to you guys?

Yup, sure does Matt. The turbo only helps if there is more fuel. The turbo stuffs more air (oxygen) to burn the extra fuel........thus extra power.

You really need a Pyrometer if you don't have one. Otherwise the extra fuel/boost could produce dangerous EGT's that you don't know about. You don't want to kill your baby do you?

Yeah, me too. I just turned my IP up today and drove it to the exhaust shop and it was a a TOTALLY different truck. SO I really know what you are talking about. Worth every penny!!!

I'll have to post back with what I am getting for boost and EGT's.
