Turbo / snail / Hat fitment

Took a pic and before I smack the (JB WELD?) glued on turbo hat with a hammer to dislodge and potentially destroy the snail, Should it be closer to the turbo?
Looking at this tells me I

have a larger problem of the turbo sitting back too far and not plugging into the hat correctly.
What say you good people?

Looks fine to me. As long as it's not leaking, send it. It's supposed to have some amount of travel for machining differences.

Looks OK to me. There is an O-ring that seals it up. As long as the O-ring is not visible and the snail is not misaligned so hard that the O-ring doesn't make continuous contact you're good to go.

You should be able to clock it a little bit if you loosen the bolt. Butlike the other guys said, as long as the o ring is buried you're good.
