I spent lots of coin buying new ZD-9 glow plugs because they prematurely burned out. Wasn't till my truck was at Mel's for a timing adjustment when he asked me if I had trouble with glow plugs burning out. Obviously I replied "yes how did you know", he said because my timing was too far advanced (I think)??? Anyway he adjusted the timing and I haven't changed any glow plugs since!
Apparently timing plays a part in life expectency of glow plugs?
