Aw, heck... the POs almost never used those doors, just tested them occasionally. And that giant lever must be a whole different mechanism.....

Still, darn cool, IMHO.

The factory mechanism has been removed. Main thing that sucks about that is the second door doesn't have a latch. These are basically emergency exit door. Once you flip the lever, both doors open. It''s a work in progress. I got one of the buses registered today with the DMV. Pretty much a 6 hour ordeal.-cuss:cry:

Yeah, they've been rendered useless, for the most part. A big reason why many school buses have a padlock on the outside, to secure e-exits when parked.

May need to replace these doors with normal used ones, though paint and lighting will not match. Dang.
