I can't seem to find the torque specs for the (3) IP 5/16 bolts and the (4) torque converter nuts on an e4od ..

Thanks .

Injection Pump Gear Mounting Bolts - 25 ft lbs.
E4OD "Transmission to Engine" 40-50 ft lbs - This is the only thing I can find that would be synonymous with TC to flex plate bolts.

All from the 1988 Ford shop manual - still had it open from earlier today.

My book says 20-30 ft-lbs for an E4OD TC to Flywheel

As for the IP bolts, it just says "Install bolts attaching IP to drive gear, and tighten." No torque spec. It does say 14ft-lbs for the nuts on the back tho.

That could be better information (Wyreth's), the 88 manual is technically covering the C6 and the AOD, not the E4OD - but it does have the actual spec on the IP gear bolts, that should be the same across all 7.3 models I would think.

I do know the three injection pump to gear 5/16 hex 12 point bolts are 25 lbs torque. They are the same bolt in the rear u joints too and Nappa sells them in a u joint repair kit. To get a definative answer on the torque converter bolts to flexplate call a top quality trans shop like Briand Truck Shop. BTS will give you much better info than AAMCO...
