just thinking outloud here as i tear apart a bunch of injectors to get the shims out. since these are used injectors, think it is a good idea to put the used springs into new injectors since they are already broken in? then shim them up to get the pop i want? so far i have a nice little pile of shims i have to measure up and seperate. but trying to decide what else i want to keep. was thinking 1 or 2 of the nozzels and same with the bodys.

Kinda depends on how many miles are on the springs.... Maybe not...:dunno The shims are not a wear item... Neither are the bodys... About the only part that can be damaged on the body is the threads... If the seat was leaking past the body fit then it would be junk... Its hard to tell if any used pintles or nozzles are worth keeping. A jewelers loop is about the only real way of actually seeing up close how the pintle looks. Then you will never be able to look in and see the nozzle seat... I tried but just not happening.... Make sure the shims are very clean when you try to measure them... Any dirt will throw off your measurement... A 1 thousands shim thickness is equal to around 55 lbs increase in pop pressure....

i have come across 2 people that crossthreaded the line onto the injector. thats why i was thinking of keeping a body or 2. take their guts into another body. just thinking out loud.

dont see why using the used springs would hurt anything..actually seems like a pretty good idea to me which reminds me I need to send my injectors back to russ to get them rematched...
