What tire size? Stay truck recommended or go a little bit bigger? Pros and cons go.

2wd, 4wd, what gears you have, what transmission, drw or srw, what you mostly use this truck for, etc?
I looked at your profile and about the 94 but just want to double check first.

Yep 94 f250 4x4. 90% on road driving.auto trans the last tires I had lasted 3 yrs Goodyear wrangler silent armour..only got about 10-15,000 miles on them. Right now stock is 235/85/16.

I'd recomend 255 85 16 myself nice size great ride just me but I like em!

Unless you're hauling some serious weight or need a more aggressive tread pattern, I'd stick with the stock 235/85/16s in some sort of streetwise tread. They'll be cheaper and should net better fuel economy, plus the less aggressive pattern will be less noisy. I have Cooper Discoverer HTs on mine. Good, relatively cheap tire for a street truck. Looked a bit skinny on the stock steelies, but then I put on a set of factory Alcoas, which are a half inch wider. That stretched the tire out a bit a gave it a great stance.

pros: been wearing like iron (have 18k on them, I got a 55k treadwear warranty on mine), have yet to get stuck (I spend about 1/2 my time going through coolies and fields, not to mention the winters), and they aren't real noisy on the highway
cons: cost, cost, and did I mention COST??

Really? My dad just picked up a set for 145 each + mount/balance. In the roughly 3K he has on them they have been great tires.
I will add to AVOID AT ALL COST Kumho tires. This was the last set he had; one bulged a cord, one steer tire blew out while driving, and one just sitting by the barn bulged about 1 month after the others.
I am running Firestone Transforce A/T's in the stock size (03 Excursion). I have about 60k on them and there is still life left. Have not gotten stuck with them, but 99.9% on the time the truck is on the road, but I have been in a soupy grass field and did not get stuck. If I can afford them, when the tires get replaced, another set of Transforces will go back on the truck. They wear very well, and are not noisy, and they have not affected the MPG of the truck........
