Time for fresh bearings

So as we go about dropping another motor in the crew cab, the decision was made to pull the pan and scope things out before installing the motor.

It seems like a good idea to freshen up the bearings while we're in there.

We'll have a machinist friend stop by to double check the crank condition.

There are no visible scars or gouges in the crank.

I'd say the present bearings have earned their keep.

Look like normal wear with lots of miles to me. The thrust bearing always takes the most abuse and looks the scariest (middle). Machine shop will determine if the crank is in good shape. Probably just a journal polish. Keep them ol' sticky clatterboxes on the road! :)

Yes.. Thats really uniform across the bearing for wear. Sad to see a bearing that worn though. Good thing you checked it.
