Anyone seen a tilt hood on this era truck? Was thinking it would be pretty sweet to do on mine.

PURE GARBAGE. I wouldnt put their $HIT on if you gave it to me
Care to elaborate on why their stuff is garbage? :)

On a similar note, does anyone else make fiberglass body panels, and has anyone used them with any success? I don't need a tilt-hood (although it would be cool  ), but I like the idea of saving weight, and more importantly, having fewer parts that can rust out. I may be in California, but the coastal salt air is eating my truck alive :( (although, except for the severe rust problem, I really do love it on the coast)

{on edit} After perusing the site some, I would like to point out that I prefer to retain as stock of a look as possible...I'm CERTAINLY not interested in the fake air-intakes shown on the hoods on that site; would prefer it to look as close to factory as possible...and, maybe that doesn't exist :dunno

I had one of their hoods on my pulling truck. It fit like crap even after fitting it for about 3 hours. And then the spider cracks came in about 3 months.

I threw it in the garbage and bought a CERVINI hood and it has been on the truck for about 10 years with out one issue and it fit PERFECT.

A friend of mine was Wooed by the cheap price of US body sources garbage and bought a hood for his 87 fox body. Again, terrible fitment and poor quality. Didnt really matter though when he hit a tree at 50mph:rolleyes:

I can understand Brad's position given his experience. However, my hood on the Moose Truck is now 10 years old and I am totally satisifed with it. I'd buy a tilt front end from them with confidence. Guess we need a third opinion. LOL

Mel I didn't know you had a tilt hood. Do you have a picture album somewhere I could check out of the tilt hood?

closest I've come to a tilt front end is on a 81-91 GM. got the truck with it done already. not an ideal setup for real life. more a visual thing than functional. one thing is the tires should be covered or you will have a dirty butt from naturally sitting on the tires.
lookie........

If memory serves, that front end was the result of someone taking the factory body panels and hood, welding them together, and making the other necessary modifications...as opposed to using aftermarket panels designed for the purpose. Or, is my burnt-out memory failing me yet again? LOL  :D
