Looks like that would burn down your truck if you did plug it in.

You can unplug the cord and buy a new one with a new heater element. Take the old cord with you so you can match the connector. I need to do that myself. It’s plugged in above the starter.

Sounds like the tow truck driver boned you good! Get a new ford mechanic he don’t know what he’s doing.
