I have done the same heater core in 3 F150s (96-04) an 1 in a Expedition (96-02) in the past month, I am tired of seeing these cores. something different would be nice, a CTS should be getting one done soon when they got $$$. hay at leat its an easy 3 hour job to pull an replace one. all you have to do to get it done is, turn the ac on+ coldest setting(please turn the key to on). now you can disconnect battery, start by poping the cover around the column. remove the panel under the column, its 3 bolts in the plastic 2 bottom fuse panel an 2 in both release levers. unplug the column an unbolt the shaft, now push the shaft in to the fire wall a bit. slowly lower the column "if auto" till you have easy access to the shift cable an pop it off. now take the kicks off an undo all the plugs, 2 grounds a side an on pass u may get lucky an be able to unplug the ant (if not you have to pull the radio). the bolts that hold are under 2 covers by the window 1 in the stash spot (center of metal plate) 2 bottom of cluster an the 2 behind the kicks. now you got 5 hidden guys, 2 are behind the pass air bag. to remove 1 is in the stash spot (center of bag) an two behide the glove box. now look under the center of cluster, do you see somebudy now. pass side under were the column cover was, there is a bunch of bolts an the one marked R7 is the one that has to go (I think that was the #). now remove the center kick, unplug the bcm, hvac gate an vac junction. pass side where that cover was under the lip of the dash is a 10mm bolt (remove). now is the hard part, finding a helper. have this helper put it's mitts on the harness "handle" (far driver side of firewall) an tug. now go under the hood an pop the fuse box out, an behind will be 3 plug screewed to the firewall. remove them an pop the cover off, now the tugging will do something by pushing all the snap in. is the helper tired yet, well the dash can be lifted out now. take the top cover off the hvac box an a core can be seen. gently remove the gate, there fragile an cut a side of the insulation around the lines. pull the core toward you till you see the evil quick disconnect, carefull while you free mahi mahi (they dont give you new snaps). now to play this in reverse

I should had done that, but I foud it odd I have had 4 core jobs come up in the same type truck. 1 is coming back to get a missfire fixed an another is coming back to get a trun switch short fixed. I will do that when come back, it been cold doing these (freinds heater is on the fritz)
