I recently went to a local shop and had my DEF sensor reset (GMC 2500HD), a highly competent shop and crew... they did the reset for free and refused to allow me to pay 1 hours shop fee. The owner and I talked, I mentioned that I had just spray cleaned mt MAF sensor. The man told me not do that but to replace it with an OEM MAF sensor and explained why, frankly, way too complicated for me. As such I found I needed part 10393949 which has been upgraded to 23259883 when contacting the local dealer, I was informed that GM no longer sells that part. He did find 1 for sale in Henderson Colorado which is a long drive for me. In discussion with the parts manager, he hasn't had to replace a MAF sensor and if he did, he would go with a NAPA Echlin sensor.

My question is, as I can't find the OEM part who makes the best MAF sensor to meet and or exceed GM spec's.

Thanks, in advance.

Shouldnt have to clean a maf often enough to ever cause problems. Are you using a filter element that needs oiled?
