Here is work in progress, latch reloation, pull cables and fiver cutout.

The metal around the latch is the same on the top and bottom of the gate so it fit great, I think it will work good and look cool, a lot of welding and head scratching.

I took a plasma cutter and cut around the latch, cut a matching hole at the bottom and welded her in. :thumbsup:

I am going to cut the fiver cutout a little wider before I finish it off. The center of the gate where the aliminum deco thing was I am going to replace with aliminum treadplate, I have a friend with a water jet, on the left side he is going to cut out a 4 inch F-350 with a little one inch 7.3 IDI underneath in the treadplate for me.

The latch will pull down to open instead of up.

Hey thats a cool mod....be real good for an extremely lifted 4x as well....great idea...can't wait to see the finished product.

I cringe at the thought of cutting my newly purchased, $100 mint condition 87-91 tailgate.::eek::puke: :rotflmao ...Should be pretty cool when it's done.;Sweet
