with the cold weather lately my fuel filter light has been coming on every once in a while. usually at night when it's colder. runs fine, no surging and the light just flickers. the filter isn't very old and i was just wondering if the place i am getting my diesel isn't running enough winter mix. i am going to go ahead and change the filter anyway which brings me to next question. when changing the filter do i need to fill the filter with fuel prior to screwing on or will the pump push fuel through without air locking the engine.
thanks in advance,

Definitely fill the filter with fuel before installing it. I would also warm the engine up really well before changing the filter so it will start easier afterward, in case you do get a little air in the system.
