As you can see, this is a fairly decent sized tool. The 2 lever portions of the body are cast iron or steel, and the pin and bolt are machined fairly well. It's is not a light piece, I'd say a pound to a pound and a half (I'd weigh it, but Momma would be a bit unhappy if I put a greasy tool on her kitchen scale.....)
I've removed at least a dozen joints with the tool in the pictures, and the tool shows no real signs of wear, other than the paint that has worn off the threads...
Last minute bonus picture..... Just in the the sauna (well driveway, but we've had a stormy week here in Central Indiana, and the heat index is pushing 100 at the moment, and I don't do heat well)
Here is the tool, held in position on the passenger side TRE on the D-50 Mono-beam in my 03 Excursion (F-250 Equivalent). From what I've seen, the D-60 in the 97 and older, and the D-50 in the 99+ Super Duty trucks are of a similar size. I am just holding it, as I need to replace the TRE's but not today, and didn't want to chance damaging the boot. (On every other joint, I've not damaged a boot, but just my luck, I would on this one) I do have some opening to spare. The ends opposite the jaws ARE NOT TOUCHING inside my hand, I still had more I could open the jaws.
