starter wiring question

I could use a hand identifying the small guage wire going to the starter, please.
While replacing the starter and 10 ga. cable to the solenoid, I lost the damned thing...must have pulled with the wire I was trying to replace.

I'm not real sure what you mean. If all else fails, you could just run another wire from the solenoid to the starter.

He's correct. The small wire goes from the large post on the solenoid(relay) mounted on the inner fender, down to the small terminal on the starter. The keyswitch actually activates the relay on the fender, and then the relay sends power down the smaller wire to activate the solenoid in the starter. Then the solenoid in the starter connects the very large battery cable at the starter to the starter motor.
