My 2001 F250 7.3 now has 219,000 miles. 2nd starter, never any engine work needed, runs great.
I have noticed over the years that when starting it cranks a little longer to start. Could it be the
starter relay { on the fender near the battery } not making the same contact as new? Do they
get carbon arch build up and not send full voltage to the starter?

Yes, but that solenoid doesn't carry the current. The big wire to the starter does.
There's also a solenoid on the starter.
Clean ALL connections to shiny.
