This is probably a stupid question.. I'm installing a Holley red . I have a few spare starter relays and I was wondering if they can be used for constant duty? Or do I need a different type of relay to power the pump?
ok , so I'm not as stupid as I thought lol. I had a feeling this was the case. Well , guess I'll go dig in the spare parts pile again. Thanks !There are two different kinds and you can't use the intermittent duty ones for continuous. The coil will burn up.
For a Holley pump, the common Bosch-style "ice cube" relay has 30 amp contacts and works just fine.
