I was traveling down the road last night and went through a puddle that basically engulfed my truck, I was driving by feel, lost total sight for about 50-75 feet. There was so much water resistance, my 3" band clamp gave way and the exhaust separated where the down pipe ends.

I got underneath there this evening to put it back together and did a little surveying. I came to the conclusion that a spring time punch list is in order. Here's what I got in a quick look over.

-Oil leaking from turbo oil supply elbow, CDR grommet, and around the turbo itself. The turbo only has about 10,000 miles on a rebuild so it should be something simple.

-Up pipes leaking, looks like around the slip joint. A new one may be in order as I have sealed it up before and it doesn't hold long term.:backoff

-Bed needs pulled to clean and paint frame, fix fuel sumps and front gauge operation.

- Fender flares need to come off to put a stop to surface rust, the paint is peeling because the flares have rubbed through it.

- New batteries

- King pins

This is much better than needing new transmissions, engines and the like but an old truck will always need something I guess. So what do y-all need to address this spring? I can't be the only one with a list of things to do to my rig.;Really

Figure out why my truck has no balls, besides that nothing big, just pulling the bed welding in patch panals and sandblasting the frame. Guess I might have to paint it up to keep it from rusting. LOL

Just welded in a new cherry bomb tonight.

Well, let' see. This could get to be along list:
1.) Get my hydroboost put in
2.)Install my new engine wiring harness
3.Clean up the frame/underbody and repair the paint form winter's ravages
4.)Clean and repaint my rims and get my new tires put on
5.)Insulate the AC evaporator housing to get ready for hot weather
6.) And if I ever get around to - clean the interior and armorall!

Warm weather has to get here first before I can (or want) to do any of it, and tomorrow it is only gonna get as high as 19° (low tonight of around 5°)

My rims desperately need cleaning, interior gets done regularly. I also have to fix a crack in my left dash support and inspect the rear brakes so I can use the e brake again.

My list is pretty simple

1.) Everything.

Seriously, goal for spring and summer is new floor and cab corners followed by pulling the bed and cleaning up the rear half and paint. Tear down the parts truck and get ready for the core support and D60 swap. Hopefully be ready for engine work this fall. ;Sweet

So after spending 2 years rebuilding the engine (twice), rebuilding the front axle, welding and fixing all the rust on the bed, my plan is to drive the truck.

Well here's the list of what I'm going to continue putting off:

Fix gauge wiring, possibly replace cluster w/custom
Continue cleaning (I really wish there was a hot tank big enough I could just drop the whole truck in it)
New shocks
Pivot bushings, tie rods, idler arm.
Rear axle seals
Change gear oil in rear end.
Install DNE2
Finish molds for new glowplug boots & fab new harness.
Pull bed & fix shower heads
