GOOSE
Happy IDI'er
I was traveling down the road last night and went through a puddle that basically engulfed my truck, I was driving by feel, lost total sight for about 50-75 feet.
There was so much water resistance, my 3" band clamp gave way and the exhaust separated where the down pipe ends.
I got underneath there this evening to put it back together and did a little surveying. I came to the conclusion that a spring time punch list is in order. Here's what I got in a quick look over.
-Oil leaking from turbo oil supply elbow, CDR grommet, and around the turbo itself. The turbo only has about 10,000 miles on a rebuild so it should be something simple.
-Up pipes leaking, looks like around the slip joint. A new one may be in order as I have sealed it up before and it doesn't hold long term.
-Bed needs pulled to clean and paint frame, fix fuel sumps and front gauge operation.
- Fender flares need to come off to put a stop to surface rust, the paint is peeling because the flares have rubbed through it.
- New batteries
- King pins
This is much better than needing new transmissions, engines and the like but an old truck will always need something I guess. So what do y-all need to address this spring? I can't be the only one with a list of things to do to my rig.
