After inspecting the heads, I have found that my prechambers have cracks in them that are longer than the 3/16" allowable (according to the Techbook on diesel engine repair). I can't seem to find a source for these. Anyone?

I would think nobody offers them, I mean there is only like one place that sells new heads for out trucks, some place in India or something, so I dont think you can go somewhere and pick up new prechambers. That being said, maybe you should scower your local craigslist and pick up some used heads. Just a thought.....

Can you post pics of the cracks? Basically they are considered servicable as long as the cracks don't go past the fire ring on the head gasket. Look for someone that has heads that are cracked in the valve seat area (not servicable) and you can probably get some that way.
Wait...

I have some :rotflmao (That would be a brain fart)
I'm probably too far away (shipping costs) but if you can't find any let me know and I can get some across the border and then drop them in the mail.

If I knew where you are I have a set of good 6.9 heads I would like to get rid of.

Call Alabama Cylinder Heads or Dieselcast welding. Clearwater Cylinder Heads buys from Alabama but you could call them too. Plenty of suppliers of new heads out there. Most are from China and they are very good but ruff on the port casting. India does make the heads also. Give Ford Parts Online a call too.

Get some info from a machine shop that is aera approved. They have a spec for the cracks and I think it is longer than 3/16.

Sorry guys, I lost track of this post. Thanks so much for the replies. I have been working on the porting of the heads and haven't tried to find the prechambers. The cracks don't go near fire ring on the gasket, they just look slightly longer than the 3/16" specified in the manual.

I'm in Alabama. Do they have the 88 stamped on them? And do they have cracks? Sounds like a good idea to me, PM me and I'll give you my address. Thanks.

Yeah, this is for a 7.3l N/A. I don't know if the precups are interchangeable or not...
