My 1985 F250 has an unnatural appetite for killing starter solenoids. It has the Delco Remy direct drive starter, which I am very happy with. In fact, the last time the solenoid went out was about a month after the truck had been stolen in 2010, only months after an entire engine rebuild. The good thing was that the thieves could not move it anymore, so they abandoned it about a mile away after removing the batteries.

Don't try to sell me on the reduction drive starters, I am not interested. Actually, it is pretty easy to replace the solenoid on this one without removing the starter motor (30 pounds of grunt torque).

I have done a little research and it seems as if the Standard S-200 solenoid would do the trick, but I would really like a Ford number to see if there is a Motorcraft part or Delco part available.
