socket size for front driveshaft bolts

Someone tell me what size please, they are 12 point, 1/4" is too small and 5/16 is a hair too large so I'm thinking 9/32" 12 point will be the right one, reason I ask is I cant test them from the parts store because they have these tags on them and wont fit between the case yoke etc. and if I pull the tags then I have to pay for all of them

Mine were 6 point, 5/16 I think but can't remember. I think there were a few different bolts used, and if you're not the original owner of the truck someone may have lost one or two and bought different ones anyway.

maybe you should invest in a little craftsman tool set or maybe you could test fit the bolt with a wrench from the parts store

8mm I think is what I used its been awhile since I had to do it

If it is a hex head and not the darn torq bit then it is an 8mm
