slave cyl pullback spring?

should there be a pullback spring somewhere on the clutch fork? i noticed when i took the strap off the slave cyl it pushed the fork all the way back putting constant pressure on the throwout bearing. i know that's not right, is there supposed to be a spring there somewhere??

No spring, the hydraulic action is supposed to relieve the tension. The system must be bled of any air to operate propely.

Yup it's working right. Sadly, the TOB spins all the time on these motors. Not like the old mechanical setups.

Well couldn't one adapt a pullout-spring for it? Or are we concerned that the spring will push the slave too far bac, creating a very long travel in the pedal before clutch engages?

I don't think the pedal has enough travel to try and do that.

So then he can add a spring there to help the TOB wear less?

Personally I wouldn't worry about it. He's using a T-19 anyway, so pulling the clutch fork and lubing the input shaft will be a necessary maintanance chore. The TOB's last a long time, even when spinning. Yea, you'll need to replace one now and then, but if you try and rig up something to take the presure off, you'll probably end up with more wear and metal dust due to occasional rubbing of the unlubricated surfaces.

I was wondering that the lack of constant pressure on the fork might allow it to spit itself out.

hmmm....alright, wish it was a greaseable throwout bearing..... oh well if that's how it was designed i guess i'll let it go. i just thought mabe if i pulled off the pressure it would help.
