serp. tensioner??? broke down idi

so after putting on the 2nd idler wheel after 40k, this one grenade'd, I got 2 new ones, 1 from ford, 1 from napa both china....
ford gave me a bolt at twice the price..... napa nope.
the tensioner has a new wheel, And what looks like to much slop in the pivot shaft, my fsm/book does not list the breakdown of what its built like...
I figure its a non repairable item,and I need to order a new one (not on shelf at the stealership) I have family issues going on that keep me from researching the thing, anyone verify that its NOT A SERVICEABLE UNIT???
Can I repair it?

I just had the same problem about a week ago , tensioner exploded. Some one posted a link about one on ebay, 85.00 bucks with shock absorber

It's a real pita to change out the whole deal, especially when you can just swap out the wheel...

I've done both...

Swapping out the wheel is cheaper and easier... Easier than changing out the belt... Really...

Be careful. I don't know about the idi application but I know my daughters idler wheel on her Pontiac was left hand thread. I didn't realize this and almost ruined it before I figured out why it wasn't loosening up.

Pretty sure it's the same.
But I did strip it. Ran a RH self tapping bolt in its place. Lol

Done swapped in a new wheel...
The piviot is sloppy
Gunna look in the am at how much crap has to come off to install a new unit.
Its my dd right now, this sux!
Could be worse , could be raining.... Oh wait it is raining
