While regular oil changes are best, doing an internal cleaning can be beneficial for a vehicle that you've just acquired and don't know the full history on. I've seen Seafoam clean sludge out of an engine that hadn't seen nearly enough oil changes in prior years. However, you should only need to do it a few times, then once things are reasonably clean, regular oil changes will be sufficient...Seafoqm...auto rx.....pick yer poison.....nothing beats proper regilar oil changes...all the rest is snake oil sold for your consience.....and peace of mind.
