I have been havin a hell of a time filling my tank before it fell out.
so I spent this morning ripping out the mangled 33 gallon tank, cutting a cross member out and installing a 38 gallon tank.

welded some 1/2" conduit to the tank and the filler neck, and deleted the inner tube on the filler.

she fills a lot nicer now!

only 1 problem, I had to order cheap leather belts to put under the straps.

I couldn't find any for under 40 bucks.

found them on e-bay for 5 bucks a piece.

I also found the pin hole in the fuel filler, when I feel like it, ill pull it and weld it up.

That's basically how the newer trucks are setup.
At least that's how my 94 is, but it goes in at the very top well, about where that little line is.

Use RTV to seal up the pin hole in the neck. Easier done than explaining it here too. Ford fuel filler engineers should be hung by the short hairs for making the fill necks like they did. Fuel runs down the inside tube and air escapes thru the outside hose thru that way too small hole at the neck. It really was never going to work as designed..

How'd you get the tank to stick to your ceiling like that..... ;)

I've sealed pinholes in filler necks with PC-7 (binary/epoxy). So far so good....

As for between metal and metal, like under the tank straps, I usu. use old bike innertube rubber (God knows I have enough of it....).

I used camper tape on mine. That's what the stuff on the originals looked like.

Not a lot of fire hose lying around here... (good idea, though, for those who have it)

BTW, is that a kink in the clear line coming off the bed side?

Use a roofing shingle on the straps, rough sandy side down. Not the whole damn shingle, but cut in strips.

:eek::cheers:
