picked this truck up in my home town of all places.

1985 F250 4spd w/ D44TTB D70 3.55 LSD Rear, 1345 T-case

a 2 owner truck. towed a boat and a tractor most its life. runs well. truck needs work.

ATS 088 turbo with 085 air cleaner  and it has a small exhaust leak... and turbo pedestal seal

the front end is TIGHT. no pulling or funky noises. rear end needs hub seals and has clamp on overloads

Caravan camper top :-D thats why i wanted it. 50inch tall custom made. fold up full length window on passenger side

inside lights, vent and shelving. no i cant stand up in it but at only 6ft tall its not bad.

apparently with 2x4 supports a single bed will fit sideways inside the camper. the roof racks are half-ton rated but i wont test that cookoo

bumpers may clean up with SOS pads. made from 3/16 steel i love the look but not confident of the sturdiness.

tires are all shot. one blew sitting at the sidewalk. the old man changed a front one out for the spare already. one is separating

Nice score. So you have a few small things to fix. I'm wondering what the rust is on the custom stainless steel bumpers. See if a magnet sticks to them. If it does its the 400 series stainless and its magnetic and will rust. The 300 series stainless wont rust. 316 is what most use but 312-16 is a great metal too. Tuff to weld too.

Thanks for the info on stainless. The inside of the bumpers seem to have a layer of rust so likely its chrome dipped. There is no chrome flaking.

Those Caravan shells are made in Reno. You see a lot of them in the state of Nirvana. I got mine at the auto wrecker for cheep, but the rear doors were rusted out pretty badly. Those shells go for about $5,000 new with all the add ons. I had Caravan build me a new set of doors. It is good to see a quality made in USA product.

Didn't think cab corners rotted out in California.

Depends on what part of CA the truck lived in...given where it was, I'm not surprised in the slightest. Same goes for coastal trucks, I've learned the hard way...

BTW, someone approves of the license plate on the truck :D

The custom bumpers give it something of a Mad Max look, but they are interesting. I like the stock grille, too. Some things cannot be improved upon.
