Scored a 4x4 IDI Van today!

The wife is going to be driving this daily. We used to have a 2005 6.0 Quigley 4x4, that I did a custom interior on, but had to sell it. We miss that van. Anyway, this one came on craigs here in the bay area, and I swooped in on it. It's not home yet, I will be bringing it home tomorrow. This one is an 87' with 6.9l, and does have a banks turbo on it, no intercooler. It also has a C6 trans, and has a geavendor behind it to. The injectors were done, as well as the trans recently, drives pretty good. Havn't taken it on a long drive yet, but I expect it should get good MPG's, and it does make good power. It has a 3 pode gauge set up, with the essentials all there. It also has an engine brake, but he said he only towed some kayaks, so not sure why he put it on. This guy was the typical engineer so he has done a few things himself like add a bed in the back, and put the gauges in, and a cold air set up. This guy was older, very close to retirement, and the wife told him send it down the road. Interior is very clean to, pride of ownership really shows on it. Well drive it until the wife gets tired of it. She wants a plate that says Scooby, or something like that.

WOW Congrats, I have always had a soft spot for a 4x4 van.

So what kind of front axle does it have?... or it it one of those silly V-drive setups?

Also if you do not mind sharing... how much did it go for?

It's got a straight axle in it, I forgot to check and see which one. Or, maybe it was I didn't want to get on my knees in the pouring rain. Either way, I didn't check to see if it which straight axle it was. It's probably a 10.25 in the rear though, and 44 in the front, it a E250 not a 1 ton. I got a good deal on it.

After looking at your signature, you've got two crew cabs and a van. You've got more boats there than you can shake a stick at. That van has to be the icing on the cake though. beautiful rig.

Thanks Paul, that doesn't count the other two crews sitting either, one parts truck, one I am not sure what I will do with. This should be the icing for sure, smaller, faster, and better MPG's most likely. Plus I can get 8 into it legally, more if I ad a third bench in place of the bed. Wifey says the bed needs to go, I found that discouraging to say the least. Only flaw I have found so far are the rear brakes will lock up in thr rain, need to adjust those or make repairs ASAP there.
