saw my first IDI tore apart

well guys my uncle had the clutch go out of his 90 F-350 IDI.it has 197,000+ on it.well he pulled the tranny to do the clutch and found the rear main leaking,then after inspecting father he found the oil pan about rotted through.
so he pulled the engine to do the pan and one thing led to another next thing you know the engine lays on floor stripped down to the bare block.
other than some ridges the engine is in great shape,the mains and rods show very little wear,so hes going to clean the block up and rebuild it,maybe we will install the turbo that i have sitting around for my truck on this fresh engine,not sure yet.
guess what i'm getting at is my truck is about to turn the big 200,000 and after seeing his engine apart i fell very good about life left in mine

they are sturdy buggers aren't they. mine has 305k on her with only head gasket problems at 290k. pulled the heads and inside was clean as a whistle (coated in black oil)

too bad they don't come in newer trucks.

mine is apart right now, looking for heads and the money to put it back together?
