Rear wheel lock nut torque

what is the rear wheel bearing lock nut torque specs? wanna make sure my hayes is correct.

Says 55-65 lb-ft and to back off 5 turns (new) or 8 turns (old)...sound right?

Doesn't sound right to me. Maybe 1/8 turn after torqing. I don't have access to my manuals right now.

its in my sig, but a sterling 10.25.

Well, you ve got a couple of things in your sig there, so I didn't want to asume. Yes, 55-65 ft lbs then back off 5 clicks and you're good to go

I torque it to 65 and set it back 8 clicks. Seems to rotate smoothly, with a slight resistance but i did put a little dab of wheel bearing grease to prevent a dry initial start and it was like peanut butter cuz its so cold.
