r&d injectors?

I'm looking to replace my injectors sooner than later and was just pricing around for OEM performance injectors and r&d seemed to have a very reasonable price for them. What do you guys that have used there products think about the quality and performance.
I'd really like to buy Conestoga's injectors but at the time it just doesn't fit the budget.
I have around 30k on my new IP and when I had it replaced I didn't know any better to replace the injectors along with the IP so id like to do it soon. Unfortunately like most of us I have stupid bills and daily expenses that come first.

I have an R&D pump and injectors in my truck. The only negative thing I can say is that the O-rings they came with didn't survive installation, but that may be more due to the installation being a PITA than the O-rings being weak. If you order the R&D injectors, save yourself the headache and swap the O-rings out with the ones in typ4's kit.

Beyond that, I haven't had any problems with them. I've only put a few thousand miles on them so far, so I can't attest to how long they'll last, but so far they get the job done.

Please answer some questions about your engine. How many miles on it. Did you do the pump replacement or pay a shop to do it. What pump did you install. Where did you buy it. And lastly when the pump was installed was the engine timed or did the pump get set to a 'line" on the housing.
As for hands on quality of R&D parts.. I can't say. I have never tried any of what they sell. Sometimes shopping for a bargain is not shopping for quality. We all what the best bang for our buck but quality costs more.

The truck is in my sig. Has 180,000 now. The pump was put on at 150,000 buy a mechanic at the time I was working in the oilfield so I had no time to I stall myself and its static timed with marks lined up. The pump is a new/db2 90cc. Everything else is all original on the motor other than ip and return lines and clutch and ac system as far as I can tell. It runs good and has been very reliable but I sure the injectors are due for replacing and I'd like to get the timing set to optimum settings.

Anyone of them that has timed their regs will tell you its the cheapest and best thing done to their engines. Your injectors are very worn with 180,000 miles on them. Lastly you can not have purchased a new injection pump. Far as I know they have not been made in many years so you probably got a rebuilt pump like all of us do have. Depending on what shop rebuilt the pump tells plenty of the quality of rebuild and the longevity of its use. Clearly its been proven time and time again a pump rebuilt by Conestoga Diesel Injection of Pa will outperform and outlive ANY pump on the market today. Now days is expensive to find new injectors because Delphi has stopped making them. Some shops have new sets. Conestoga is not building some really nice rebuilt injectors that are better than oem new injectors. See their web page and they also have an ebay site now. They are world famous for what they do and ell

Sorry about that. You are correct its rebuilt but by who I have no clue. When I had it replaced I had pretty much zero knowledge of the idi engine other than it was all mechanical operations under the hood. I'll try and find out today if possible and reply back.
I have been on Conestoga's website and I have no doubt that the products they sell are top of the line. I was just testing the waters on other products and seeing what you guys had to say about them.

I couldn't get ahold of my mechanic today I think he is closed on Monday. But I did find the paper work for the work but all it reads is replacement of stanadyne db2 ip. Like I said at the time I just wanted it to run better and with little to no knowledge of the idi otherwise I'd have bought a reputable brand ip. I was with him when he ordered the pump on line right in front of me but they all looked the same. The pump cost alone was 675.00 plus labor of install. Total was 1000.00 out the door. With all thT being said it ran way better and hasn't given me any problems I just clocked 17 mpg today after fill up. I think thats pretty good considering I ride close to 2500 rpm doing 65mph so I'm assuming I have 4.10's. Any way I just enjoy working on my truck and replacing the old injectors is something I'm capable of doing correctly and I'm sure I would benefit in an even better running truck especially if I can get the correct timing set.
Also I 100% agree with you get what you pay for quality wise.

there has been much of a one sided debate about the people that provide injectors for our trucks.
go with who you want to go with, this site is not about bashing other people, its about getting your truck to your desired point.
all we can do is point you in a direction. noone here will e-castrate you for running anyones injectors.
typ4 sells good remaned injectors, all pop tested, from others i have talked to.

i have a set of misters, and i can tell you that i love them.

R&D has very good products in addition to the previously mentioned products here. All of his products are dyno tested as well and are proven to produce what he claims.
