can we use psd oil filters on our trucks???? i was told that we can

I accidentally used one once and it was difficult to put on/take off because when its almost at the end of the threads the bottom was against the oil pan. I felt like I was prying a little and I don't think its a good thing to pry on the oil filter mount. Just seemed to me to be asking for trouble.

It will fit just fine. The only fitment issue you may encounter is the fuel line traversing across the crossmember if the line has popped out of its retaining tabs.

Yes the Motorcraft FL1995 will work but in order for it to install correctly and easily you need to do the following.
1. Obtain a permanent black marker. If it is not a permanent marker it will not work.
2. Remove filter from box.
3. Every "Powerstroke" word on the filter must be blackened out with the permanent marker.
4. Install filter but do not forget to fill the filter with clean oil and lube the gasket with clean oil before installing.
5. If you do not follow step 3 you will have trouble installing the filter and if you had no trouble installing the filter with out following step 3 then you will have problems later on. Those problems can include the filter falling off or becoming loose.

huh, I thought having powerstroke written on the filter gives my truck an extra 20 horsepower.

little tuff to thread because it is very close to the oil pan and look closely at that fuel line because mine was also very close.

even tougher to get off. There are many an oil spot on my driveway where the darn thing got away from me and spilled out. I change the oil after driving and the oil temp is up and the darn thing is heavy, slippery and HOT!!!. Oh well the oil keeps the dust down I suppose.

woww my lines are all still in their holding straps. and will this filter add extra protection at all? or better filtering capacities???? lower any engine temps a little?? just wondered thanks for all your guys help i heard that and though hmm i bet that wouldmaybe filter a a tad better

I think the PSD is 20 microns and the IDI is 30. The PSD is a quart larger displacement. Having the extra quart is better for your engine I suppose.

20 microns is a smaller chunk of dirt than 30 microns
