Are you sure those are the right specs for the K&N filter? I stumbled across these specs on their website when I was pricing them:

hmm id still say it has a better micron rating than other filters though just from what quality they are

I just don't like the weak relief valve, I remember reading somewhere that these engines were supposed to have 70 PSI at cruise (2000) If this information is correct then you're turning your main filter into a bypass filter by letting mostly unfiltered oil circulate. Plus the If I remember correctly the oil cooler rear header has a bypass valve in it. Or I may be on crack, I don't know.

K&N used to advertise the micron rating but stopped.
Maybe cause there rating was not so accurate, so much easier to
remove lousy advertisment than pay court cost and related fees.

AMSOIL EAO99 PSD filter is 98.7 ABSOLUTE at removing particles larger than 15 micron.

I would tend to believe the manufacturers specs more. I do like that little nut on the bottom. Thats a nice feature

that would be interesting to know because supposedly they are the best at filtering. i run a k&n as my air filter and you can totally tell its getting more air

It's also getting more dirt.

I went to Canadian Tire AND Walmart and you can NOT get a proper IDI filter ANYMORE. I asked why adn they said the demand was too low.

I HAD to buy a PSD filter.....at an extra $4 over what the IDI filter was? Buncha retards.

Anyways, I ran a Baldwin filter last time, the proper one for an IDI and I plan on going back to Parts For Trucks and buying a CASE of them.....no more fram, wix or fleetguards for Goofy!!
