Procedure to mount new lifter?

I just get my new lifter and puschrods. Now how is the procedure to mount them and start upp the engine the best and safest way..

I would also like to know how to prime the IDI's before starting a fresh rebuild (since there's no distributor to drive the oil pump). Do we just turn the engine over by hand?

lifters simply get soaked in oil overnight.
install with the dog bones and hold down plate.

*face palm* Good point!

To prime a NEW engine if not run....do not install glow plugs spin over 20 secomds or so wait couple minutes...you can use the spinning to prime injectors...fuel at unconnected lines....

Do this a few times with good charged batteries...if you have a real oil pressure guage you should see pressure eventually.

Install gp tighten down injections lines....should start pretty darn quick.

Tanks. I will fixit this weekend hope its stop ticking. And maybe i get little more power to. 5cyl did not open properly.
