Power Steering Hose high Pressure Side

I need an assist with my power steering hose. I blew the line last night and checking parts stores today gives me a hose which does not resemble what I took off. All listings for a non-hydroboost system give me this hose http://www.napaonline.com/Catalog/CatalogItemDetail.aspx?A=NPS72409_0233405265&An=599001+101995+50028+2028028+27638+4028048+5999999&Ar=AND(P_RecType%3aA) . The hose I took off did not have the long wishbone loop and has a longer rubber section by about 3-4 inches. Was this a redesign? because I cant figure how this new one would fit. Have you seen the replacement in person, or just online? If it's the latter, those might just be generic stock photos. Try Rock Auto, they're usually pretty good about having actual pictures.

I have held the replacement in my hand and yes, it is exactly like that picture. Perhaps the one I removed was incorrect ?

After doing some comparison of the old hose, it seems the previous owner may have installed a hose of an IDI truck,perhaps out of necessity? Anyway, the ends are different between the tow hoses, the old has an O-ring at the end, the new has a tapered end . I cannot get the new hose to seal up without leaking....

seems to me there are two different ones, just like you say tapper-ed and o-ringed, But I can't remember why.....

for some reson ford has used 2 different fittings on the pump end of the hose for years.you can go to the scrap yard and get the fitting out of any ford pump that uses the fitting on the new hose if you really need to

After a lot of aggravation, I picked up another pump and I am swapping it out with one that will fit the correct hose. I bought a hose off an '88 which fit the pump, but would not route back to the steering box. It seems the PO cut a hole in the inner fender guard to make his hose fit. Thanks for the help.
