Deal? Steal? or No-Deal?

Found This on Craigslist near me...
"I have a 1993 Ford Diesel 4x4 auto. HD ( 1 ton suspension ) never been plowed, but would make a helluva snow plow.
Christmas is right around the corner and I have a money crunch. The first $ 1495.oo drives it away."

Talked to the guy... Has 160,*** on it. He says the it runs and drives. The engine smokes and seems to be missing... He said he had a compression test done at a shop and it was good. He says the shop said possibly needs a new injector...

What are you guys thoughts??? Deal? Steal? No-Deal?

I need a good tranny (E4OD :puke:) for my '93 but if all this needs is some injectors serviced I have injectors sitting on the shelf... I could have another running IDI... ;Sweet

What do you think good be the problem? Should I keep or Part it out?

I'm always in favor of fixing a truck instead of parting it out.

If the compression is showing good though it could be as simple as an injector.

defiantly keep it unless something major is wrong. either way there sounds to be alot of good parts on that truck and worth the price.

Well that's what I was thinking... maybe just rob peter to pay paul for now... take what I need off of this truck (tranny, and a few little things) to get my current truck up and running for the winter... (plowing season!) and then fix this new truck up as a second plow truck...

KBB Says:
Excellent: $3,080
Good: $2,755
Fair: $2,380

I welcome your comments or suggestions... Is this a deal? or a steal? or No-Deal?

Bought it for $1200...

Problems So Far:
1) It is hard starting, and it smokes and seems to be missing on start-up. Once it gets warmed up I runs much better.
2) There is a broken brake line and some brake work needs done.
3) The body is much rougher then I thought...
4) The brake and Ant-Lock Lights were one then they went out and the O/D light started blinking. The tranny shifts fine however... So not sure about that...
5) The tops of the front wheels are toed in bad... (My other truck is the opposite!)

Suggestions of what todo where to start... Fix, Part out, etc...

Deal or No Deal?
