pilot bearing questions

the parts stores by me have 2 differnt ones 1 is $9 and has plastic in it and the other no one stocks wich is $72 big price differnce anybody know why. can i get a good one from another place?

my vote is the kevlar pilot bushings from south bend clutch.
pricey...last order was $40 ea plus ship.
every vehicle I've installed them into has been problem free in that area.

every vehicle I've installed them into has been problem free in that area.
X2 on that. I switched over to a Kevlar bushing when I did my ZF swap, and all's been well for over 6 years now ;Sweet

BTW, here's a pic of what my original pilot bearing looked like, along with a comparison between a new pilot bearing and a Kevlar bushing...

12 inch clutch kit from southbend is suprisingly cheap for the borg-warner 4 speed bought one for around 200$ last year came with the kevlar pilot also

where can i get the kevlar bearing? i looked on southbend and it said they sold it seperate and the the page goes blank!
