2 for one post here so bear with me

According to my dti I’m -1* timing the reason I’m suspicious of this is that I don’t have any off the classic bad timing symptoms at-least as far as I can tell going from stock to 90cc
Is it possible to be 8* off and not have any smoking issues

I’m wondering if the magnetic probe is giving me issues so I tried the timing light to no avail no reading am I doing something wrong here?
Video sucks but it’s flashing at the 0 mark

I’ve timed 4 times successfully with this unit

Whenever I had probe issues it would give crazy readings. So I would lean to believing the reading you're getting if it's consistent.

My timing was about 8* advanced and I didn't have much in the way of smoking issues. I know that's not retarded timing, but it's my experience.

Short description is, get engine running, ramp up to 2000rpm.
Use the timing light. Press buttons on light until light moves to timing mark In the window. The readout on the Dti will change, that is how many degrees off it is.

At least that's what I remember. I'll see if I can find the guy that I used when I used my Dti timing light.

I’m thinking there is an issue with the dti and or light itself

It is possible. My brand new dti light had a short out of the box, but it's one I was able to fix.

How did you go about that?
I took it apart and found this wire had been stabbed by the solder tail, which made it to where the light didn't flash. Pulled the wire off and wrapped that section, started working.
Construction of these seem cheap, even though they work, so maybe yours is having a similar issue.
