I was checking out craigslist a week ago and came accross a 92 f350 cc 4x4 for 2000. I decided take a look at it and found that it was a stock 7.3 truck, had no ac and no power options. Just a plain jane crew cab 4x4.

I was talking to the owner and offered him 1800, he said hed take it but went on to say that he would deliver the truck to my house for the listed 2k. Heck, I couldnt pass that up cause the thing was about 250 miles from my house. Saved me my time as well as the abuse on my truck.

I plan to pull the front axle and rear overloads to put on my 250 and my brother gave me a grand for the truck after I put my dana 50 under it. I hauled a bunch of my steel in and when it was all said and done I only ended up paying 250 dollars out of pocket. What makes it even better is it has a brand new set of 38 super swampers on it that I plan to sell to make a little more money back.

Overall I think I did pretty good, I doubt Ill end up paying anything for the dana 60 or the overloads and I didnt even have to pull the truck home.

I do have a question though, I just put new seals and bearings on my dana 50, will the hubs pull off the spindles and slide onto the 60 spindles? I really dont want to pay for new bearing if I dont have to.

They are supposed to be the same. The D50 is essentially a D44 center section wtih D60 outers.

Nice score on the truck.

Good, good, I plan on unbolting the springs and drag link and rolling each axle out from under the trucks. Ill hook everything back up and swap the outers.

I havent taken a look at the outers of the 60 but im figuring that after going through the mudpits that the bearings are probably packed with crap. Heck, my bearings were and I rarly go through anything over the hubs.

I was kindof torn between looking at the 92 350 4x4 or a 92 turbo dually for 1500 for the turbo. I figured that know that I have the dana 60 I can buy a crewcab thats in decent shape that the axles have been robed for cheap. I wanted to buy the dually as well but the dang thing sold a day after I bought the cc. It even came with a full rebuild kit for the 7.3. Oh well, something else will come along eventually.
