[MIDNIGHT RIDER]

I have a truck that has a park-brake cable that obviously must not be connected to the lever inside the backing-plate.


I figure that, when I get inside there to investigate, I will find that little clip missing in action.

Can this be bought separate ??

If so, does anyone know/have a Dorman/HELP number or otherwise ??

I would like to arm myself with a new or good used clip before I tear into it.

What clip?

The e-brake cable its self just goes on to the lever with no clip(it is held on with the spring on the end of the cable.

And the e-brake cables outer jacket snaps into the backing plate with tabs that are built into the jacket

Should be everything in this kit you need. IIRC NAPA sells individual parts for the drums.

Thanks for the pictures, diesel brad, but those top ones are the Sterling set-up; I should have specified Dana.

I think that in a Dana, you would find a clip that retains the cable in the lever.

Of course, I could be wrong; and, if I am, then the lead slug must have stripped from the cable and turned it loose.

My bad. I didnt realize you have a Dana. but from my research they use the same design. Actually the left side uses the same cable but the right is different maybe due to routing
