pure oxygen can react violently with any petrochemical including the oil left behind by the rings even. It is also expensive and you cant cary much. The oxygen in nitrous is released by the heat of compression and ignition of fuel. making it somewhat safer (at least less hazerdous to you) than O2.

Use a cryo intake system. It pumps liquid CO2 through veins in the intake, air filter box and even through the intercooler making the incomig air charge denser. THAT should efficiently drop the EGT's and make a little more power....might lower the boost numbers, but less colder air is better than more hot air!

ABSOLUTELY true!!!

Pure O2 and oil DON'T mix! Very scary results....

We had this happen on an vacuum arc furnace once, cost alot of money to repair!

You would be better off injecting hydrogen and oxygen into your intake air to get a more complete fuel burn, better economy and less smoke- not to mention a little more power. It doesn't take a lot to make a difference, and you make it while you need it so there's no storing it in tanks. When the engine's off, so is the unit. It works best in non-computer engines like our old idi's. There are some photos of my system in the users gallery. I'm re-doing the electrical connections between units for less resistance. Between that and installing my bypass oil filter Saturday, the Christmas weekend has been pretty busy...

As a young sailor we were shown the training film "Man From Lox', Lox being liquid oxygen. It's main idea is Lox is dangerous around any oil product. Its main shot was the tongue on a Lox cart [wagon] falling in slow motion onto a liquid oxygen soaked shop towel/rag. The tongue had a small amount of grease on it, and, in slow motion it took 'forever' to get to the rag, but the next frame after contact-BOOM!! the tongue was blown over the cart!! Very impressive, especially for young sailors in the 1970's. It also had some shots of severly burned bodies and soon to be bodies
It is not something to mess with indiscrimatly.

Those of us old enough to remember of course, know what Gus Grissom's opionion of the use of oxygen would be. ;Really

Yea, Gus found out the hard way about the volatility of pure (or semi-pure)
O2
