How about you get a REAL truck(FORD) and put Cummins in it, instead of driving a shipping crate for the engine

Travis.. No matter what you change your still the same guy we have come to love to tease around these parts. Your idea is based on sound judgement. I may ask why not a cummins in a ford.... The best of two worlds right there...:dunno:sly I liked the sound of your truck at the 2009 rally as much as I liked Darrins truck sound. Which truck would I build....:D

That's the only thing I don't like about the IDI is that so far I haven't been able to get anywhere close to I6 type fuel economy levels. To be fair I have no O/D and most of my driving is in town, and my B100 takes about a 9% fuel mileage penalty as compared to D2.

yeah but what does it cost for your b100?
I'm only getting around 14mpg or so, but only spend $40 or less a month and still driving around 1k miles a month.....

What can I say I like the dodge, love the Cummins - I like the Ford, I will always have a soft spot for the IDI in my heart. Does that mean I have to give one up and not enjoy the other......

Guess some people can only have one brand or one type... me I like 'em all....

The vehicle doesn't make who I am... I haven't seen a headstone yet that so and so drove a (insert brand and model of vehicle).... I see things like loving father and such... that is my goal in life... what I choose to drive is really really low on my list of things I want to be remembered for....

where is it on your list?

Travis, you have your priorities straight bud. None of that other stuff will do you or anybody else a damn bit of good after you're gone. Still if I think of you, I could see you blowing by with the E and a lightly modded 6bt. But I understand that a hard working man probably doesn't have time to do cool stuff like engine swaps. I still have relatively few bills and responsibilities and getting kingpins done and contemplating a brownie install is a challenge. Drive what makes you happy, and you're always a brother here, meanwhile focus on that other more important stuff, getting the relationships right, which I believe you do.

'Tis true, even though FL taxes Bio at the same (high) rate as D2 I still have less than a third of the cost of diesel in the fuel itself, unless maybe I start factoring in my time, but when I start billing myself for my own time that's the day I'll feel I sold out to our crooked system.

Also guys.... Not not everyone knows each persons situations.... but Travis and I are like brothers. At this paticular point in his life, he needs a vehicle that he can get in, put the key in it, and it starts and takes him everywhere he needs to go, EVERY TIME!!!! He does not have the time to convert a truck, or have a truck that needs to be worked on every day. E-2 served him well when he needed it..... but right now, she neeeded more time and care than he has. I had even worked on it, to try and keep him going so that he did not have issues getting where he needs to. Right now.... the bike, and another vehicle he has access to is exactally what he needs. I know he would love to put a 6bt in E-1, or an E-3..... but that will be down the road. At this point, to have a 6bt, it will be in a Dodge wrapper, who knows.... maybe one day it could be it could be a doner for a future E...... but right now he needs transportation that is 100% reliable, 100% of the time.

I don't know argve's business but I figured that was the case. You won't hear me criticize him. These old trucks do need a lot of work to keep them turnkey reliable. I might have a hard time justifying my 86 if I had those needs. Right now it's getting some of that attention that it's been begging for for 6 months.
