oil question

I changed my oil to rotellat today, now i have a gallon and a half of delvac sitting around, can i just dump it all in or should i put a little in each tank fill? I also went full synthetic in the x case,front and rear diffs and grease fittings, damn near 200 bucks, didn't do the trans yet though, also replaced fuel filter. For what it's worth, I did notice less rolling resistance in the few miles i did drive it so far

If thinking about mixing it in the crankcase Don't mix anything with rotella. If you are going to run rotella, keep it all rotella. Sometimes they have batch problems with their additives where rotella won't play nice with other oils ( found this out the hard way . Best to play it safe and not mix.
If just wanting to put it in the fuel tank, just meter a little at a time since it's winter, don't want to get too thick

What you experience on the rolling resistance is normal. Amsoil used to advertise a 4.8% increase in fuel mileage when switching diffs over just in the reduction in rolling resistance, but in recent years, so many vehicles are coming out of the factory with synthetics in the diffs now that they have removed that because it's kind of hard to get that kind of improvement over another synthetic , the results would be much closer , but for vehicles that have been running regular gear oil, the results are drastic when switching to synthetics in diffs and gearboxes.

yeah it's a good thing i changed them today cause that old stuff in the diffs was super thick, the x case atf wasn't too bad though, I couldn't smell any burnt stuff and i took a peek in there with a flashlight, there were some tiny shavings but those were probably from when i tried to shift from 4lo to 2hi, there was some grinding going on, finally shut it down when it wouldn't go to park either, learned that the hard way

Did you have magnetic drain plugs on the case? If not it would be a good idea to invest in them( I don't know how many drain points you have there ) because there may still be some shavings in the thing.

I think I'll do that, there's just one BIG drain plug at the bottom and a big fill one at the top

If you have to put one in, get a clean drain pan, clean the area around the drain plug , then have the new magnet plug handy when you pull the old one out and you can either try to switch them fast or not, but either way the oil that winds up in the drain pan, filter it through some folded over cheesecloth before pumping it back in to catch any particles that might be floating around in it

Don't throw out or burn clean unused oil just cause your not going to use it in your crankcase. Don't you need some bar oil for your chainsaw or something? A lawn mower maybe? There are other things you can use it in.
