I just picked up a 1993 Super Duty. This is the first truck I have ever owned, let alone first diesel. There is a drip coming out the open end of a tube that is approximately 9" to the rear of the oil pan drain plug. Is this tube supposed to be connected to something?! It drips from this spot while the truck is running. I couldn't find any pictures of the underside of the truck online to compare it to. Thank you for your help!

first of all welcome to oilburners!

fill out your signature so we know what truck you have.

now where is this tube located exactly? drivers side or pass side? could you upload pics of it? diesel's leak fluids quite often, its in their nature. a little oil leak and i mean little wont hurt the truck but if it gets bigger it could but it would still take a while. this sounds like a road draft tube because these trucks didn't come with a tube such as yours... could be a superduty thing....

The only things that come to mind in that area are the dip stick tube, and maybe the dip stick tube for the tranny if it is an auto. Also the fuel lines run along the cross member.
