OFF HIGHWAY DIESEL?

can I run off-highway diesel in my truck? All I know about it is it has a higher sulpher content.

You can run it in there, but you run the risk of being fined.

Around here it can be by the gallon if they wanna be jerks. it could be a flat 3-5000 or 5000 per gallon. Theyre so struct around here its stupid

Yes it is cheaper because it does not have the road tax on it. The fine is 10K per occurance. So if you have 2 tanks with off road in it is it 20K, 3 Tanks, 30K.... and I believe you can not drive the vehicle away.. it will be towed and must be rectified before it can be driven........

I forgot to add that my buddy mike got charged 75000 for 15 gallons in his front tank. He did jail time and bailed offf a loan so yea hes payin big time. NOT WORTH IT

I was told that the "dye" in it will turn the inside of the intake red and that they can tell that way too. Red (ORD) or green (HWY)... It's all black when I'm, err I mean a friend of mine, is done with it.

Just keep a empty bottle of trany fluid in the truck and the the officer you add it as a fuel lube.
I use to run it all the time, never cam close to being "dipped". I can see some areas may focus on small diesels but not here in the Philly Pa area.

The fines are not that here in Cali, I know a guy that got popped for it in more then one truck. They hit him for 2k per vehicle. The IRS wanted there money that they had not gotten to, so he had to pay retro tax on what he had pumped prior. Small trucks never get dipped around here though, that is unless someone turns you in, then the gustapo comes looking for you to dip your tank. You are running a risk by using it, but it is not likely you will get dipped. Our CHP, puts a little white swab on the end of a stick, and if it comes out red, then your hosed. You like the pun? Anyway, I would never admit to using it online at this point even if you do decide to use. The cops are getting smart and using chat rooms like this one to prosecute you, trust me I know. The DMV gave me a big ticket, and used something I had said online to hang me. I did get it dismissed though, the ******** lost! It was not for fuel usage though, don't ask I don't want to talk about it.

BTW, they are not looking at the inside of your tank color, if the fuel isn't red, they don't write a ticket. The tank color is not a factor in the least, that is a wives tail.

no it is not worth it. i have ran it but dont after i almost got checked once. around here it is normally about 20-30 cents cheaper a gallon but the cops around here dont check for color, they use a test strip to find the chemical marker, that is why it can be detected for a while after you quit using. I know a guy that got caught using it and it was $10,000 for the first offense.
